Frauenförderung im Namen von Anita Borg

Google vergibt Stipendien für weibliche Studierende und Doktorandinnen sowie für Studierende mit Behinderung

Im Namen der Informatikerin Anita Borg vergibt der Konzern Google Stipendien mit Fördersummen von bis zu 7000 Euro an begabte Studentinnen. Teilnehmen können Studierende im Bachelor oder Masterstudiengang Informatik sowie Doktorandinnen.

Ebenfalls mit 7000 Euro fördert Google Informatikstudierende mit Behinderung. Das Stipendium soll den Studierenden helfen Barrieren des Studienalltags zu durchbrechen und neue Erfahrungen im Austausch mit Google Engineers zu sammeln.

How to apply

  •    Apply if you are a female student enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters or PhD Program (or equivalent) in 2014/2015 at a university in Europe  studying Computer Science or a closely related technical field. International students are also eligible to apply.
  •    The scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of your academic performance, leadership experience and demonstrated passion for computer science.
  •    The online application is easy: all you need to do is submit a copy of your CV, transcripts ,  1 recommendation letter and write 4 short essays.

Become an Anita Borg Scholar
A group of Bachelors, Masters, and PhD students will be chosen from the applicant pool. The recipients will each receive a €7,000 (or equivalent) scholarship. It should be used for education-related expenses, e.g. tuition, travel, books etc.

All recipients will be invited to attend an all expense paid networking retreat.

Google Scholarship for Students with Disabilties

The Google Europe Scholarship for Students with Disabilities aims to help dismantle barriers for students with disabilities as well as encourage them to excel in their studies and become active role models and leaders in technology. The scholarship is open to current Bachelor, Master or PhD students in Computer Science or a related technical field with disabilities who will be studying at a university in Europe for the 2014-2015 academic year.
