International Student Roundtable (ISRT) “In the thick of It : what next in my first semester" is for all international students.
 
Now that you have arrived and begun get immersed in your studies  studying, you may wish to consult with us on things that have come up, have questions about navigating your new life or delve deeper into what the KIT community has to offer.
 
KIT's Department of Informatics will jointly facilitate this event with International Students Office, Welcome & Integration Team and KIT Career Services.
 
We can:
∎ clarify any remaining queries you might have 
∎ address KIT organizational and academic aspects
∎ help start building your social network, connections and involvement
∎ provide information about seeking jobs and what resources are available via KIT's Career Services
∎ work with exchange students Learning agreements updates during the mobilty
 
At the end of the event, you will have the opportunity to chat with other students, the presenters and advisors in attendance.
 
This event is particularly relevant for international students enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at the Faculty of Informatics at KIT.

For new and returning students: get together!
 
In this Get-Together you can chat and/or play various board games. This also provides you with an opportunity to meet study partners for modules you are taking and/or with whom you can do free-time activities with.
 
You can chat with others in german or english.

We will meet on the given dates at 12 o'clock in front of the Infobau (building 50.34) and go together to the Mensa. All women, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender people in computer science are cordially invited, whether staff, professors or students. 
We want to make new contacts, find out what is being researched at the faculty and simply use the opportunity to exchange ideas with each other.

KI verleiht Flügel
Künstliche Intelligenz meint die Automatisierung intelligenten Verhaltens und die Lernfähigkeit von Maschinen und Systemen. Im Science Camp KI übertragen wir diese Prinzipien auf die Vogelwelt. Ob Ente, Adler oder Blaumeise: in vier Workshop-Tagen wollen wir Vögel von einer KI trainieren lassen und fit für das große Wettfliegen machen.
Neben einer kleinen Einführung in Python und maschinelles Lernen, erstellen wir mit euch einen eigenen Eier-Datensatz und klassifizieren diesen mit einem neuronalen Netzwerk. Außerdem erproben wir genetische Algorithmen, Mutationen und Fitnessfunktionen für die Rennvögel.

Daneben gibt‘s natürlich auch einen Einblick in das Informatikstudium, den Campus und das Studileben in Karlsruhe.

Das Science Camp KI findet vom 03.08.-07.08.2026 am KIT in Karlsruhe statt und richtet sich an Schülerinnen und Schüler ab Klasse 10.

Der Unkostenbeitrag für fünf Workshop-Tage inkl. Verpflegung und Programm beträgt 75€.

Wir räumen auf mit Vorurteilen und wollen im Rahmen des Science Camps zeigen, dass Informatik viele Facetten hat und genauso Mädchen wie Jungs begeistern kann. 
Egal ob in der Medizin, im Film, in der Automobilindustrie oder in der Finanzwelt: Informatik hilft heutzutage in fast allen Lebensbereichen, Prozesse zu optimieren und Informationen zu sammeln und darzustellen. Die Arbeit von Informatiker:innen spielt sich dabei aber nicht ausschließlich alleine vor dem Computer ab, vielmehr sind die Zusammenarbeit im Team und eine stetige und gute Kommunikation für ein erfolgreiches Informatikprojekt entscheidend.
Habt ihr Lust, das Fach Informatik in fünf Workshop-Tagen gemeinsam mit anderen Mädchen kennenzulernen, euch mit Informatikthemen praktisch zu beschäftigen und mit uns eure ersten Schritte als Coderinnen zu gehen?
Dann ist das Science Camp Informatik genau das Richtige für Euch!
Nach einer Einführung HTML erstellt jede von euch eine eigene Website, die mithilfe von CSS und JavaScript ganz nach Belieben gestaltet werden kann. Daneben gibt‘s auch Einblicke in andere interessante Bereiche der Informatik und ihr lernt andere Mädchen und Frauen kennen, die Informatik studieren oder bereits im Informatikbereich arbeiten und könnt so von deren Erlebnissen und Erfahrungen profitieren.
