Re-enrollment (Rückmeldung)

Re-enrollment is the declaration of your intention to continue your studies at KIT in the next semester. The necessary conditions are re-enrollment in the student portal and the transfer or direct debit of the student work and administration fee. Without re-enrollment, admission to the degree program expires. This will result in ex officio de-registration at the end of the current semester.

If the student is unable to complete their studies in the 9th semester in the Bachelor's program or the 7th semester in the Master's program at the latest, an application for an extension of the deadline for taking the Bachelor's or Master's examination must first be submitted to the responsible examination board so that re-enrollment can take place in the following semester. The application must be accompanied by a current transcript of records and an examination schedule showing which examinations are still to be taken in which period. Upon approval, manual re-enrollment takes place at the Student Service Center.

The degree program should be completed within the following number of semesters:

  • Bachelor's degree programs in Informatics / Information Systems: 9 semesters
  • Master's degree programs in Informatics / Information Systems: 7 semesters

Please note the relevant re-enrollment deadlines!
