Informatics B.Sc. SPO 2022
A new SPO for the Bachelor's degree program in Informatics came into force in winter semester 2022/2023.
The main changes are
-
Introduction of the mandatory lectures Information Security and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence with 5 CP each.
-
Elimination of a root module
-
A total of 36 - 43 CP can be chosen in the elective studies in informatics and minor studies, depending on the choice of mandatory subjects in mathematics. (elective studies in informatics 15 to 31 CP; minor studies 12 to 21 CP)
Students who started their studies since WS 2022/2023 were automatically enrolled in the new SPO.
Students who started their studies in SS 2022 or earlier remain in the SPO 2015. Students can study under the SPO 2015 until the end of SS 2027. The SPO can be changed upon application. The application can be submitted from WS 2022/2023. The application is informal and should include a reason for the change. A transcript of records must be enclosed.
The following transfer conditions apply:
-
All examinations including failed attempts will be transferred. The studytermaccount remains unaffected.
-
If the modules Security and / or Cognitive Systems have been taken, these will be recognized as the new mandatory lectures. The remaining CP (1 or 2 CP) will be recognized in the elective area.
Transitional regulations for root modules:
The root modules Cognitive Systems and Security will no longer be offered from WS 2022 / 2023. Transitionally, all students can take the new mandatory modules as root modules (with 6 instead of 5 CP). In order for the mandatory modules to be recognized as root modules, students must take 1 to 2 more chapters and will probably be given 1 to 2 more tasks in the exam. The examinations on Cognitive Systems and Security will be offered for the last time for repeaters in WS 2023/24. From winter semester 23/24, only the new modules Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (5 CP) or the new root modules Advanced Artificial Intelligence or IT Security are possible as a first attempt.
