Minor studies (Informatics B.Sc. and M.Sc. and Computer Science M.Sc.)
Listed and not listed minor studies
A selection of possible minor studies are listed in the module handbook.
Students may apply for other than in the module handbook listed minor studies with an informal application (simple letter) to the examination board.
Application procedure for not listed minor studies
- The student creates a complete exam plan (including all exams with the corresponding CP, module identification, partial achievement identification, signature and stamp of one of the examiners). When selecting coursework (in German “Studienleistung”), please note that at least 50% of the CP must be graded in the original study program. Students should also make visible which exams have already been passed, if any.
- submit the exam plan with the informal application to the examination board via e-mail to ISS
- ISS will make the modules and partial achievements available in the individual study plan after a positive decision by the examination board.
ATTENTION:
- In Business Administration, Economics and Operations Research only the listed minor studies can be chosen.
- All applications for not listed minor studies in ETIT can only be approved by Prof. M. Heizmann (ETIT) for BSc. and by Prof. Kluwe (ETIT) for MSc.

Minor Studies ETIT
If the "Lineare Elektrische Netze" module has been selected in the individual study plan and students may also want to take one of the workshops in addition, please note the following: depending on the capacity of the institute offering the workshop, places may be prioritized. Priority will have students for which these workshops are mandatory. A confirmation from the Examination Board for a minor studies combination including a workshop is no guarantee that you will be able to participate in the workshop.
Please inform the ISS of the corresponding partial achievement code of the workshop you would like to attend.
Changing the minor studies
As long as no exam has been taken in the minor studies, a change is possible at any time. If modules in the minor studies have already been started and completed, an application must be made to transfer these modules to the additional modules area of the individual study plan.
It is also possible to change only parts of the minor studies. If students want to drop out of some of the modules or partial achievements in their minor studies, please refer to Transfer→Cancellation of a module). If a module has not yet been started students can replace the modules themselves in the individual study plan.
