Second degree course

In contrast to parallel studies, in a second degree course you have already successfully completed a degree course at a German university and would now like to complete a further undergraduate degree course. A completed university degree is not an admission requirement for undergraduate degree courses. They can also be chosen as a first degree program. At KIT, these are usually degree programs that lead to a Bachelor's degree. Master's degree programs, on the other hand, are referred to as consecutive.

This means that a consecutive Master's program is not a second degree program, as the admission requirement for this program is a Bachelor's degree or at least an equivalent degree in the previously planned subject or a related subject area (see: Selection regulations for the Master's degree course in Informatics and the selection regulations for the Master's degree course in Information Systems).

Tuition fees are charged for a second degree. A regular application is required for this.
