Moving examinations to a module or to another area of the degree program / cancelling a module

Some examinations can be moved to another module in the same area or to a different area of the degree program (German "Umbuchung"):

Moving a module to another area of the degree program (Informatics / Computer Science only)

If a module can be taken as part of two areas (e.g. areas of specialization or the elective studies), you may upon application to the responsible examination board change the mapping of this module in your study plan (move it to another area of your study plan). All partial examinations in this module must be passed or at least registered for. The mapping of mandatory modules can of course not be changed.

Moving an examination to another module

If a partial examination can be taken in different modules, you may by applying to the relevant examination board change the module of a partial examination after you have passed this partial examination. The module handbook valid at the time of application must permit the new alternative. The newly selected module must be completed in accordance with the current conditions (at the time of approval).

Cancelling a module

If you have already started a module that you do not wish to study to the end, you can abort it and move it to the area of the additional examinations. The examinations already taken within the module must all have been passed. In addition, the additional examinations area must have less then 30 CP. Mandatory modules can of course not be aborted. These modules will be listed in the Transcript of Records.

In order to abort a module, an application to the examination board is necessary. if aproved, ISS will implement the changes in the CAS-System.

Exceptions: In the Informatics / Computer Science degree programs, 2 unsuccessful examinations may be moved to the additional examinations area after the first unsuccessful attempt. In the Information Systems degree program, this is not possible.

The following applies to all degree programs: As soon as the last grade (in most cases this is the final thesis) has been booked and the degree is üassed (180 CP for Bachelor's or 120 CP for Master's have been achieved), no further changes can be made. Apply for changes in good time.
