Moving modules: Moving a module on subject or module level / cancelling a module

A total of three different aspects can be considered in the course of the study program under the heading of rebooking:

Moving a module to another subject (subject level - Informatics only)

The assignment of a module to a subject can be changed upon application to the responsible examination board. In order to rebook an entire module, the rebooking of all individual examinations in the module must be applied for. Only changes permitted by the module handbook valid at the time of application can be made. Mandatory modules can of course not be moved.

Moving an examination to another module (module level)

Students can change the assignment of an examination that has already been taken to a module by applying to the relevant examination board. The module handbook valid at the time of application must permit the chosen alternative. The newly selected module must be completed in accordance with the current conditions (at the time of approval). The examination that is to be rebooked must have been passed. In addition, rebooking is only possible before de-registrationor before the completion of all examinations to be taken in the respective degree program (passed credit account).

Cancelling a module

If you have already completed a module that you do not wish to study to the end, you can cancel it. The examinations already taken in the module must all have been passed. In addition, the additional credits must still provide sufficient free credits. A total of 30 CP can be completed as additional work. Mandatory modules can of course not be discontinued.

Cancellation takes place upon application to the responsible examination board. Upon receipt of approval, the transfer of these credits to the additional account can be carried out by the ISS.

Please note that discontinued modules are not completely removed from the student file, but are listed under additional examinations and are not included in the grade calculation.

Exceptions: In the Informatics degree program, 2 unsuccessful examinations may be rebooked as additional work after the first examination attempt. In the Information Systems degree program, it is not possible to transfer additional work back into individual subjects. In the Informatics degree program, it is only possible to transfer credits back to the study-relevant area if the degree program is completed or minor studies are changed. Example: 6 CP credits are still missing for the completion of the degree course and the additional credits include one passed examination with 6 CP credits or two passed examinations with 3 CP each. Or: credits already exist in additional credits for the minor studies to be changed to.

The following applies to all degree programs: As soon as the last grade (in most cases this is the final thesis) has been entered in a credit account and the account shows 180 CP for Bachelor's or 120 CP for Master's, no further transfers can be made. Apply for planned transfers in good time.
