Examination achievements

The following are examinations as defined in the module handbook:

  • written examinations
  • oral examinations
  • other types of examinations

Oral and written examinations are graded and awarded credit points. They can be repeated once. The type and scope of the retake must correspond to the first attempt. The examination board decides on exceptions. Other types of examinations are performance assessments which are graded and awarded credit points. These include graded assignments, seminars, laboratory practicals, workshop practicals, the final thesis, etc. They can be repeated once. The type, scope and content of the repetition do not have to be the same as the first attempt.

study achievements

Study achievements are ungraded assessments that are usually completed during the course. They can be repeated as often as required and do not have to be of the same type and scope as the first attempt. The workload can be added to the workload of an examination in the same module, even if the study achievement is shown as a separate component in the module handbook. Study achievements include, for example, additive interdisciplinary qualifications, ungraded exercise certificates, preliminary examination work, laboratory or work placements, assignments and seminars.
