The KIT Department of Informatics would like to celebrate the end of the 2025/26 winter semester with its traditional semester colloquium.

We cordially invite you to this event on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the foyer of InformatiKOM 1.

In addition to a review of the past semester, we are particularly looking forward to the inaugural lectures by Prof. Dr. Nadja Klein and Prof. Dr. Henning Meyerhenke, both of whom are based at the Scientific Computing Center in addition to the Department.

Prof. Dr. Nadja Klein develops novel probabilistic methods and data-efficient models at the interface of Bayesian statistics and machine learning, which, among other things, make it possible to quantify uncertainties and incorporate prior knowledge. Prof. Dr. Henning Meyerhenke stands for algorithmic efficiency and parallelism, focusing primarily on graph-based methods (e.g., the analysis of large networks).
What they have in common is the goal of developing scalable methods for large amounts of data—from different but complementary perspectives.

As always, there will be an opportunity for professional and personal exchange afterwards.
